Meet Nell and Arthur – the first 2 characters in the graphic novel coming next…

Sign up is now open for Making Participation Work online event
12th November 10-13.00
The event will bring together professionals and practitioners who are designing and delivering participation and co-production at a strategic level across children and young people’s health, education, and social care.
This event will focus on preparing for adulthood. We will:
- Discuss how we can support children and young people to prepare for their future, including building the skills they need for work and training and for living independently.
- Consider what is needed to support children and young people to understand their political and civic rights, to form their own views, and to engage in democratic processes.
- Identify how children and young people’s views and priorities can have impact on planning for the future at an individual and strategic level.
- Consider how partnerships across organisations and sectors can support better transitions and outcomes for young people.
There will be a variety of presentations and attendees will also have the opportunity to share their own expertise, ask questions, and engage with other participation and engagement practitioners.
Prior to the event, attendees will receive information on the examples we will be hearing about, as well as some sample questions to aid breakout room conversation. This event will be highly interactive, and discussion based.
Feeback from the previous Making Participation Work practitioners’ events includes:
- “This was well thought through with a great range of presentations – including young people. The breakout rooms were a great space to share thoughts and ideas.”
- “The presentations were amazing, very informative and easy to understand.”
- “The session overall was very informative with excellent signposting to information and resources for facilitating meaningful engagement and participation for young people in service delivery.”
- “It has been an excellent session, being able to learn of different approaches. These will be taken onboard, so that we can influence locally. How confident the young people were was excellent!”
This event will be held online. The deadline for registration is Monday 9th November 2026, or earlier if tickets sell out.
